Happy to share info about our Summer Floral Workshop! It is a dream coming true to host a 4-days workshop where I will be teaching together with Marzena Joseph in one of our favorite places! Join us for a 4-days floral design workshop in Italy where we will lead you on a creative journey in the beautiful ancient village of Torre di Palme.
The course will take place in several picturesque locations of the town and will draw inspiration from traditional arts and crafts, experimenting with different materials and transforming them into contemporary designs. Together, we will explore fundamental elements of floral designs and will dive deeply into the creative process, sharing our approach and helping you to find your own, in your own worlds.
Over the four days course, we will go through a collection of floral design items from the initial concept to the conclusion, in order to set up the flower design of an entire event, such as wedding or a creative or corporate event: different styles and sizes of arrangements – including Ikebana technique – a big installation, bouquet and table styling. We have designed this intensive, 4-days course to give an exclusive insight into the creative process of designing, creating and styling florals. During the workshop you will connect to my and Marzena’s creative and business expertise, with ample time for questions and 1:1 support. Practical sessions begin with tutor’s demonstration, followed by individual work supported with accurate and constructive feedback for each individual student and their work and style.
We will be talking about different types of design and styles, seasonality and color theory, as well as answering doubts in open group discussions. We will have the opportunity to design with incredible local materials, forage in the woods, and draw inspiration from traditional arts and crafts, experimenting with different materials and transforming them into contemporary design pieces. The end of the 4-days workshop will be celebrated with a traditional Italian dinner, accompanied by the floral styling created during the last class.

TEACHERS
Federica Carlini is an Italian floral designer based between London and Italy, working internationally. Her passion for floristry and teaching is inspired by the beauty of nature, its connection to different means of expression, cultural traditions and -as a whole- the role of botany in society. She holds a BA in Management Economics in Milano, which led her to work into event production, and to carry out a Master in Sustainable Design and Innovation in Madrid. Her fascination with art, design, crafts and photography guided her into the floral industry. After working as a freelancer for editorials, events and studio productions, and joining the floral team at LOEWE Flores, she developed her own classes first in Madrid to later join the London Flower School in London, a renowned creative floristry school fostering the boundaries of education in the flower industry. Now she runs her own workshops and creative projects for events, set and wedding flowers in London, Italy and internationally.
Marzena Joseph is a flower designer and Sogetsu Ikebana teacher with an educational background in Cultural Studies and the History of Art. Her experience in the flower industry began over a decade ago and she has held a number of positions in floral companies in London, last being a Creative Director at London Flower School. Joseph started learning Ikebana in 2016 with the late Ikebana master, Shiego Suga and continues to study with a Japanese Sogetsu Ikebana master, Ikuyo Morrison. She currently holds a 3rd grade teacher level diploma in Sogetsu Ikebana.

You will be staying at the picturesque town of Torre di Palme, Fermo. Torre di Palme is a village surrounded by greenery, perched on a hill overlooking the coast. It offers poetic glimpses with narrow brick-coloured alleys, colorful flowers on the facades of the houses, the blue of the sea and the intense green of the forest.
