We are thrilled to announce our spring floreal Workshop, TERRA TOSCANA, a 4-days immersive experience in the breathtaking countryside of Tuscany! Join us in the charming village of Greve in Chianti, Italy, from April 9–12, 2025, for a creative journey celebrating the art of floral design. 

 

This workshop is designed as an opportunity to step away from conventional frameworks and explore floral design as a dynamic, experimental art form. Participants will be encouraged to move beyond established techniques and traditions, embracing a more intuitive and creative approach to their work. By taking inspiration from local art, culture, and history, the workshop will foster a deeper understanding of how floristry can intersect with and reflect its surrounding environment.  

 

Rather than focusing solely on replicating existing styles, this experience will invite participants to reinterpret floral design through a contemporary lens, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern artistic influences. The workshop will emphasize the importance of cultural context, offering insights into how regional aesthetics and artistic movements can inspire fresh and meaningful compositions.  

 

Through collaborative exercises, guided discussions, and hands-on practice, participants will have the freedom to experiment with materials, textures, and forms, creating designs that challenge their boundaries of floral art. This holistic approach aims to inspire not just technical growth, but a renewed perspective on the creative potential of floristry.

 

SCHEDULE 

April 9, 2025 (Day 1)

_Check-in: Participants arrive at the retreat venue and settle into their accommodations.  

_Afternoon Session: Introduction: A warm welcome to the workshop, instructors, and fellow participants, with an overview of the schedule and goals.  

_Bouquet Class: Techniques for creating hand-tied bouquets with a focus on composition, texture, and balance. This module also incorporates artistic and cultural contexts, drawing inspiration from diverse traditions and movements to enrich the design process. By exploring global floral aesthetics and their historical significance, participants will gain a deeper appreciation for the artistry behind bouquet creation. Includes a demonstration followed by individual practice.  

 

April 10, 2025 (Day 2)

_Morning Session: Topic:”Arrangement and Styling Class for Weddings and Events”  

Introduction to creative process, flower selection, color theory, and creating elegant floral arrangements for special occasions. Includes a demonstration by instructors.  

_Afternoon Session: Topic: “Arrangements and Styling” 
Foraging session followed by hands-on practice using seasonal flowers to refine techniques learned earlier in the day with final day Q&A. It wil follow a “modern styling exercise”, practice and theory.

 

April 11, 2025 (Day 3) 

_Morning and Afternoon Session: Topic: “Floral Installations”  

Designing large-scale arrangements for events and spaces. Hands-on practice with group projects and feedback from instructors.  

 

April 12, 2025 (Day 4)

_Morning: Breakfast and Farewell class: Participants gather for a final meal together and a last final floral exercise. 

 

What to Expect:

• A focus on bouquet design, event styling, and large-scale installations, with hands-on practice and personalized feedback.
• Time to connect with like-minded creatives, gain business insights, and refine your personal design style.
• A perfect blend of education, inspiration, and relaxation, including optional cooking classes or winery tours in the heart of Chianti.

Workshop Highlights:

• Day 1: Welcome and introduction, followed by a bouquet design class to master hand-tied techniques.
• Day 2: Dive into event styling with a focus on weddings and special occasions, covering flower selection, color theory, and elegant modern arrangements.
• Day 3: Create large-scale floral installations.
• Day 4: Farewell breakfast to celebrate your journey and creations and final class. 

WHO CAN ATTEND
This floral retreat is open to professional floral designers, flower lovers and design students. We will teach with emphasis on creativity and experimenting. No previous experience is mandatory but suggested.

WHERE WILL YOU STAY 

You will be staying in the beautiful area of Chianti in Tuscany. Ancora del Chianti is an ancient stone farmhouse located in the Chianti wine region in central Tuscany, surrounded by a rural scenic environment at a short driving distance from Florence and Siena. Here the pace is slower and nature is in abundance with ample gardens, grassy lawns, sloping vineyards and silvery olive groves. 

 

Optional cooking classes and winery tours in the heart of Chianti can be arranged.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Full amount must be paid at the time of booking. A 20% of the fee is not-refundable in case of cancellation. Refunds, for the course cancellation by students, will not be issued within 6 weeks of start date. All materials, flowers, accommodation (4 days), are included in the Course Fee. Travel costs are not included in the Course Fee. In the event that the Course is canceled by us, for any reason, we will inform you and reimburse the full payment made by you to us (including the Deposit). Please note that the course has a minimum attendance level and may be canceled if too few bookings are received. We reserve the right to amend or cancel the course. We will not be liable for any losses (including, but not limited to, travel and accommodation costs) arising as a consequence of any modification or cancellation of the course or timetabling constraints by us or you, beyond the cost of Course Fee.
