The arrangements are a tribute to the Ancient Roman festival named Rosalia or Rosatio, celebrated from May until mid-July. Rose were traditional symbols of rejuvenation, rebirth, and memory. Their blooming period framed the season of spring, with roses the last of the flowers to bloom. As part of both festive and funerary banquets, roses adorned feasts of birth and death together, two faces of the endless and curious process of life.
