Mangroves, a type of SHELTER BELT, are natural shelters that ecosystems create as erosion defences against Tsunami. This is our interpretation highlighting the importance of natural land and sea defences. It is build on faded banana leaves (abundantly available on the beach in Costa Rica), after being struck by their evocative aesthetic, textures and wide history in their different uses. An emphasis and reflection on the importance and the beauty of these natural defences often destroyed by human modern development.
